The STAR Inventory: A Daily Check-In to Stay Grounded and Thrive

Feeling off your game lately? I get it! Many of my clients—especially those navigating transitions—tell me they feel overwhelmed, scattered, or stuck? That’s why I created The STAR Inventory—a quick, powerful daily tool to help you show up as your best self, even in uncertain times.

What is STAR?

STAR stands for:

  • S – Self-care

  • T – Thoughts

  • A – Adaptability

  • R – Relationships

These four areas are ingredients for resilience and well-being. A quick STAR check-in each morning can help you reset, refocus, and move through your day with more intention.

Self-Care

Ask yourself:

  • How and when will I move my body today?

  • What tiny habit will I start (or continue) to help me stay physically strong?

  • What mental health practice will I do today—focused breathing, meditation, etc.?

Thoughts

Reflect on:

  • Where do I need my thoughts to be today to perform at my best?

  • What’s within my control, and how can I shift focus there?

  • If my mind drifts to the negative, what helpful thoughts can I replace them with?

Adaptability

Consider:

  • Where might I need to pivot today?

  • How am I already adapting well—being flexible, creative, or innovative?

  • What personal strengths can I lean on to help me adapt?

Relationships

Think about:

  • Who fills me up, and how can I connect with them today?

  • What relationship could use intentional nurturing—personally or professionally?

  • Who could I reach out to and support today?

Daily Tune-Up for Your Well-Being

Just five minutes of STAR reflection in any one area each morning could set your tone for the day and direct your attention (and mindset) toward getting more of what you want.  Join our community for a printable version of the STAR Inventory.
